Lobster Mania at Suncrop!

I have been to Suncrop Chinese Restaurant twice recently for their lobster special at $48 per lobster if paying in cash.

After ordering a lobster ($48) with ginger and shallot, and a large E-fu noodles ($10) I sit back and wait with anticipation. The E-fu noodles is what I am familiar with as yi-meng, yellow, chewy noodles that normally accompany saucy seafood dishes like lobsters or crabs.

A soup was served first. I think this is called the daily soup, which comes free when ordering certain items. The soup is deliciously sweet, with carrots and sugar cane pieces. There are some pieces of wings floating around, which I think is duck. I know Cantonese people normally only drink the soup, as it has all the essence from the various ingredients used to stew the soup, and discard the contents as they are bland after the long stew and no longer flavoursome. Whereas I happily munched on all the carrots and duck wings.

We ordered some oysters on this occasion too. We shared a half dozen of steamed Jumbo NZ Oysters with Ginger & Shallot. At $13.80 I thought it was reasonably priced. The oysters were alright, not as fresh as the ones from seafood market, but I still enjoyed drinking the juice.

Now I love, love, loved the lobsters. The meat were so sweet and bouncy, indicating a fresh lobster! I loved how the lobster's eggy sauce soaked up the noodles, making it deliciously slurpy to eat! Sweet soup and fruits were served after the tables have been cleared.

Thumbs up for the best priced lobsters. I may be back for more soon!

Other favourites from Suncrop:
